The reviews from nearly every Amazon customer that purchased this machine were quite favorable, easily scoring 4.5 stars out of a possible 5. Fantastic exercise bike, and worth every penny were a few of the things mentioned. But like everything, a few customers found some things they didn't like.



One reviewer stated that their physical activity has been drastically limited over the last several years due to an increase in knee pain (osteoarthritis in both knees). After experiencing a great deal of frustration with finding an exercise that would provide a real workout in addition to not causing pain, they finally found the answer with this exercise bike! This recumbent bike is the perfect workout for them and it it causes NO pain in the knees, plus it succeeds at getting the heart rate way up.



Many were pleased with this product, stating that it is extremely quite and smooth as it operates. It is solidly built, and the seat won't wobble if the adjusting screw is sufficiently tightened. The electronic display is easy enough to read, but might take a little time to figure out. Although the directions do give instructions on how to use it, there is nothing like actually using to get accustomed to it.



The bike itself does take a bit of assembly. One particular reviewer mentioned that it took them about an hour of getting the pieces ready and organizing them before actually starting to assemble the bike, which then took roughly another two hours. Also it was mentioned that the computer dashboard could be easier to program, and more instructions should be added.



Although the Schwinn 240 Recumbent Exercise Bike has received a great number of quite positive reviews, I am finding the negative reviews to be very hard to overlook. Of the negative reviews, they all seem to state the same few problems. They felt that the machine is honestly a piece of garbage. More than a few reviewers found that after only two months, it would stop working correctly.



Also one consumer mentioned that it just isn't comfortable and causes the back to become uncomfortable. But the one thing that stood out the most was the general opinion that the customer support is simply a nightmare. Multiple customers had been put on hold for hours, and in the end hung up in frustration with nothing being resolved. Multiple emails went unanswered as well. The overwhelming positive reviews warrant serious consideration of this exercise bike, but in the end, the negatives are something that can't be overlooked.
