Reviews:
This is a great bag, with ample room for two people, and more than enough room for one. It is plenty warm even if you are using it solo. One reviewer said that in addition to purchasing this sleeping bag, they also opted to buy a fleece sleeping bag liner, but really haven't found a reason to use the liner to keep warm when using this bag.
Honestly, this sleeping bag is huge; roughly three and a half feet tall in it's carrying bag. So you probably won't be toting it around on any hikes since it is a monster as one reviewer put it. A couple people mentioned that this bag is more like a cocoon, keeping an overall moderate temperature as opposed to being too hot or too cold.
One of the problems that nearly everyone mentioned with this bag is that it is extremely difficult to get back into the carrying case once the bag has been taken out. It is hard to remove and even harder to get back in. Someone even mentioned lots of aggravation and more than a few bloody knuckles trying to get it back in the case.
This Reviewer gave some good advice. Be absolutely sure that this is the sleeping bag that is going to work for you, because if you want to return it, you are going to have to pay for return postage and it isn't very cheap.
The second problem many people mentioned was something that could be minor but disliked nonetheless. Only one side of the sleeping bag has a zipper which could end up being a hassle for the person on the inside if nature calls in the middle of the night. It was also mentioned that the zipper tends to unzip if it isn't completely zipped up.
One particular reviewer that was getting ready for another cold Christmas camping experience was expecting to freeze just like last year. But they were pleasantly surprised after purchasing this sleeping bag, stating that it was so comfortable that they didn't even feel like they were sleeping on the hard ground. They weren't too cold or too hot, and the reviewer also went on to say that it sleeps two very comfortably and they could move their legs!
To sum things up, the bag has plenty of room, and is warm. It is even comfortable to lay on top of for an afternoon nap. If you are looking for a double bag for cold weather camping, the Guide Gear double canvas bag is a solid choice and definitely worth looking into.
Apart from the couple of negatives, the bag seems to hold up quite well, and is plenty warm. Nothing is perfect and this sleeping bag is no exception. But with that being said, it has been received very well and many people actually liked that bag quite nicely.
